When is the right time to launch your new career in the wedding industry?

Are you waiting for the right time to launch your career in the wedding industry? It’s fine if you are because we’ve all been guilty of this at some time or another.

But I think you know deep down that there’s no such thing as the ‘perfect time’.

At some point you have to find the courage to convert your passion for weddings into your dream career or suffer the consequences.

How long have you had this dream?

Has it come about because the job you currently have is a means to an end and something you ‘just do’?

Perhaps you want more flexibility around your working life and the ability to do something you’re passionate about that makes you want to leap out of bed in the morning.

Or possibly you’ve recently got married and fallen in love with all things wedding through that process.

However, you’ve found yourself here imagine living each day with that feeling of using your full potential.

Being in the wedding industry gives you a unique opportunity to be a part of the most important day of two people’s lives. It’s an absolute privilege and the best feeling in the world.

As a Wedding Planner you’re the person who orchestrates the entire event so everything runs seamlessly.

As a Wedding Stylist you’re the creative eye that takes a couple’s vision and turns it into a reality. It really is an amazing industry to be a part of.

But…it isn’t all gorgeous flowers, beautiful linens and colour palettes.

In order to plan, style and design weddings for a living, you need to know how to run a wedding business, which is why at the Wedding Academy we don’t sell courses we launch successful wedding businesses.

In order to plan Pinterest worthy weddings, you have to know how to get clients, price your services and stand out from the wedding crowd because without any clients all you have is an expensive passion hobby.

Step 1 – Give your passion a purpose

Move your dream for being just a dream and allow it to become something real. Contrary to popular belief you don’t need to leave your current job in order to take action and start your dream of becoming a wedding planner.

What you do need to do is allow yourself to actually take those steps. Start off by looking at the skills you already have that would serve you well in this new career.

Next identify the ones you don’t have that you can learn. Just knowing your strengths and weaknesses helps you to know what your next step will be.

Then, I want you to allow yourself to actually visualise what your life would look like if you were to follow your passion. This is what I call giving your passion a purpose.

If in 6 months’ time you could be running your own wedding business and working with couples you just love, how would this change your life?

Now hold onto that vision because it is this that’s going to get you through those times when you just want to give up. Your passion is what drives you and should be a part of your everyday life.

Step 2 – Take action and Get Educated

The way people learn is changing. It’s no longer about reading through text books, taking a certificate or diploma course, sitting exams and passing or failing.

The formal style of traditional education no longer works in today’s modern world. A certificate hanging on your wall isn’t going to help you run a successful wedding business.

It’s about action over information. The ability to take what you learn and implement it in the real business world.

It’s about having a plan and a blueprint that actually works and allows you to take that next step with confidence.

Estee Lauder famously said, “I never dreamed about success, I worked for it.”

Success doesn’t just happen. It takes knowledge, hard work and a plan.

As the original online training program for the wedding industry we’ve launched the careers of over 4500 new wedding planners, stylists and designers globally.

Our certification is globally recognised. We give you a step-by-step implementation program that not only teaches you how to plan weddings, but more importantly…how to launch and grow a profitable business.

It’s Live. Supportive. And Interactive.

Step 3 – Find your Wedding Tribe

Behind every successful wedding planner is a support network cheering them on and willing them to succeed.

Let the Wedding Academy be your support network, provide you with the knowledge you need and help you to put a success plan in place.

When you join the Academy you become part of a community. You’ll network with students globally, form friendships, share experiences, get feedback, and ask advice.

You can tap into the collective knowledge of the Academy Mentors and quickly troubleshoot any little (or big) problems in a matter of minutes. You’ll never be left scratching your head stuck for longer than you need to be.

We all have a fear of failure and those awful moments of self-doubt but if you wait for the perfect time to do this, you’ll never do it.

At some point you have to jump in feet first, hold tight and just go for it. And the best part is, the Academy Community are here to hold your hand every step of the way.

Our only mission at the Academy is to empower wedding lovers globally to live their dream and launch a successful wedding business.
