Being organised and making sure that things look right have always been my guilty pleasure and probably put me somewhere on an obsessive compulsive spectrum! But these traits make for a great wedding stylist! What is most important to me in life is being true to yourself and being happy. And I believe every wedding should TOTALLY reflect this ethos.
Coming from a background in studying urban planning & design, and a happy 7 years in a classroom of 9-11 year olds, it was not an obvious step to move into the wedding industry! But for me it was the perfect marriage of organisation, design, creativity and project management that drew me to become a wedding planner & stylist. When I found the Diploma in Wedding Planning, Styling and Design I could not believe that there was such a great online course that would help me develop my skills and relaunch my wedding business. And it totally lived up to my expectations and beyond! I graduated in January 2015 and the course & Academy team have given me the confidence, experience and support to take my existing business to a new level. Since completing my course I have trained as a commercial florist and now offer full floral design alongside my wedding styling.
My approach to weddings is through story telling. Understanding and interpreting the love story and the day to day story of every couple and reflecting this in the design and styling of their wedding day is what I am passionate about. I love taking the time to get to know my couples and taking their ideas from dreams into reality on their wedding day.
Although I live, breathe and sleep weddings, I am also a keen chef specialising in gluten free food because I have coeliac disease, I adore travelling and just experiencing new people & places, and love watching live sports events. My ideal five minutes would be watching a sunset over the sea with a glass of champagne in hand chatting to my nearest and dearest.
Dee McMeeking Wedding Styling & Floral Design provides a bespoke full wedding styling service for your wedding ceremony & wedding reception. Working with you we take your ideas and your personal style and create the look and feel for your wedding day that reflects who you are, and the experience that you want to create for your guests.
With all of your wedding flowers designed and created in house, you have the peace of mind knowing that all of the elements of your wedding styling have been designed to work together. And of course because we only commit to one wedding on any given day we can guarantee to be at your wedding venue at any time to set up every last detail on your behalf. We can even stay to help turn a room around if the same space is being used for your wedding ceremony and wedding reception.
The key areas that we design with you are: your wedding ceremony styling (entrance, styling your aisle, ceremony area, chair decor, ceremony programmes); drinks reception styling (ideas to share with your caterers, table plan / escort card display, personalised signage); wedding reception & wedding breakfast styling (full table design including table numbers, place cards, place setting decor, table centrepieces, wedding favours, table linens); personal wedding flowers (bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, button holes / boutonniere, corsages, thank you arrangements) and any other venue styling that you may require.
Hope all is well with you..
