This Easter we challenged you our audience, as well as our Wedding Academy students, to design an Easter inspired table using only what you had available to you in your home or garden.
And my goodness did you rise to the challenge. We’ve had so many amazing entries I have no idea how we’re going to choose just one winner.
As part of the challenge the team here at the Academy also decided to create some of their own tablescapes to help inspire and motivate you.
Living in the rural French countryside my inspiration came from my surroundings and I chose to use the colours most prominent at this time of year, which are blue and yellow.
For me, when I’m creating any type of tablescape I like to tell a story and create a space for my guests to step into that takes them on a journey.
My aim is to not just design the table but also the surrounding space so the whole thing weaves together and blends with the rest of the environment.
Design is about incorporating the five senses and in this design with the smell of fresh roses from the garden and colours that just pop I think we managed to achieve this.
Below is the video of the story behind this shoot and a close up of all the little details. It’s amazing what treasures you can find in your cupboards and your garden when you really go looking for it.
I’d love you to watch the video below and tell me your favourite part of designing a tablescape.
