If you're looking for a creative career and you have an eye for colour and details, and would like to work in the wedding industry, then this could be your perfect course. It's an entry level course designed with no previous experience required and is perfect for those of you looking to develop the skills and insider knowledge you'll need to start a new career as a wedding stylist.
The Academy is a private training organisation and the qualifications offered are both nationally and internationally recognised within the Wedding industry. There are no formal qualifications required to be a Wedding Planner, but studying with an industry recognised company like the Wedding Academy will not only equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed, but also give your future clients confidence that they are hiring a professional.
The role of a wedding stylist has become the new 'must have' career. It's become popular with clients who want to plan their own wedding but need help with making it look amazing. As a wedding stylist you'll work with a couple to bring the design elements of their day together. This can include assisting them with design ideas, sourcing decor and styling elements, setting up and styling of the day, as well as post event break down.
All our courses are online which gives you the flexibility to learn anywhere and at times that suits you. So you really can fit your course around your lifestyle. Many of our students study whilst having a full time job and/or looking after a family. You have up to a year to complete your course although it can be completed in as little as 12 weeks if you have more hours per week to dedicate to study.
Our practical courses contain ‘how to’ video demos and tablescape design examples so you can follow along and practice your styling skills at home. You’d be surprised what you can find around your house that can be styled together to create a great table design. Our certification assignment also require you to put what you learn into practice, creating mood boards, storyboards, colour palettes, layout plans, client proposals and more.
A wedding stylist will not be involved in the pre planning of a wedding in the same way a wedding planner would. A wedding stylist only needs to concern themselves with the visual side of the wedding and the prep and logistics associated with that part of it. Whereas a planner can be involved in everything from budgets to guest lists.
This course definitely appeals to creative types as it is a great way to turn those skills and passion into a viable career. However, not everyone who becomes a wedding stylist comes from a creative background. If wedding styling is something you're interested in but you don’t see yourself as a natural creative, don’t let that stop you. These creative skills can be learnt and developed with practice.
