Students have always been at the heart of what we do here at the Academy but after last year, where a lot of our focus was on ‘re-branding’ we determined that 2015 was to be the year for giving our students even more.  This is where the idea for Academy Live, came from.  Now as we move towards the end of the year I am proud to say that not only have we maintained the focus on students that we have always had, we have strengthened it.  A prime example is our Academy Live Facebook group for Students and Graduates.  Just this morning I saw a student, working on her wedding business plan, post a Market Research questionnaire for other students to help her with.  At the end of last week I saw comment after comment of support for a student who was just made redundant.  This is exactly what we wanted for our Students and Graduates; a supportive community that is guided by the Academy team and nurtured by a growing community of supportive fellow students and industry professionals.

Today’s post is to introduce you to two of our success stories; another way we like to show support for our students and graduates no matter what it is they achieve.

From our Australian campus we have Shelley Truong, who recently launched Luxury Weddings and Events in Sydney.  Shelley is a Certificate in Wedding Planning student and also recently participated in her first Expo.  We are so excited to see what Shelley has already achieved and cannot wait to see where her business takes her into the future. You can read Shelley’s story here.

From the UK we meet Simi Arif who recently Graduated from our Advanced Diploma in Special Event Planning & Design. Simi has also recently launched a business, Full Moon Weddings & Events.  Simi is such a positive person and she has some great advice for anyone considering following in her footsteps.  Read her story here.
